SHED Studio provided the owners of this house, set in a unique dramatic site in Utah, with a transformative renovation, by creating an open living environment and a strong visual connection to the rugged landscape. The sustainable design adds a master bath spa as well as reconfigured kitchen and living areas, brightened up by the new material palette relating to the natural surroundings and a careful balance of natural and artificial light. To expose the view, the stained glass windows were turned into retractable panels in the curving west wall, which is newly illuminated with soft LED cove lighting.
