A strategic budget-friendly DIY renovation of this artist loft space enhances the functionality and sense of the open space. A long translucent glass wall of repurposed large glass panels hides a storage corridor and library. The focal point of the renovation is the transformation of the bathroom, where a gem of faceted translucent glass and steel armature suspends a vintage cast-iron tub into the living space. Natural daylight from the skylights in the living space filters through the glass into the bathroom. By night the glass volume is animated by the lighting and activity inside the bathroom, blurring the boundaries of privacy.
